illness abounds
A few weeks before Rachel’s arrival I came down with a bad cough, didn’t last but about a week, but I felt like I was getting that dreaded flu bug going around. It never did manifest itself into its “full-blown” state however. It was a few days before Rachel’s arrival that Jessica came down with the same thing, again, never showing its true ugly head.
Then a couple of days after the birth, I was zapped with it, then a week later, William was zapped with it, and then a few days after that Jessica got it, and just so she won’t feel left out in the family dynamics, Rachel now has it. You want to speak of some miserable folks around here at home. But in all honesty, these last few days have been a true test on our patience & endurance, and we all know what endurance builds… right? So we rejoice even in our sickness. We are again truly grateful for the many friends of ours who have paid us visits and prepared meals for us. In all honesty the meals provided were true life savers even more in our time of sickness than adjusting to the new baby. Thank you!
