a big trader mess

Hey folks who read our blog (note the use of the word “hey”):

Now I know some of you out there are extremely excited about trader joes opening in Charlotte today.  All the way down in South Charlotte, to which I deem another city in and to itself, not to mention a good 30 min to an hour away depending on traffic, yet to some avid fans not that far at all.

I just want to say….. no thanks!

Yes, I’ve never been to a trader joes in my life.  It will be many months before I have the nerve to go to one when the other one (yes the local one) comes up our way.  WHY??  you may be asking yourself.  Some of you are probably saying inside “just like a yankees fan”.  Well I saw on charlotte.com today that folks were lining up before the store opened and the line count was over 100 deep in “fans” of the store.  The article says things like: “It’s like a cool kids club.” huh?  You mean cool kids club for grown ups?

I just don’t like going to stores that are uber-busy.  I love going to a simple little ole Food Lion on a week day morning where I have no problems navigating the grocery aisle and the most problems I have are little old ladies who are blocking the aisle.  I even go over to Aldi from time to time when they have the necessities on the cheap.  Yes, I even do my Christmas shopping early.

I’m curious about what you can find in these trader joe stores that you can’t find anywhere else?  Do they carry some sort of food that no matter how you make it that it turns out to be insta-good or something?  Does the olive oil taste so dramatically good that you just don’t know how you could have gone on without it??

So count me out when the store opens up by us.  Jesa is all alone, so don’t forget to show her some love (particularly when the store opens).

Please note this post was written slightly tongue-in-cheek.
