China: House Church Raided

A house church Bible study was raided on March 6 in the Wancheng district, Nanyang city, Henan province,  according to China Aid Association.  The leaders were taken into custody and interrogated for the day.  After international pressure the local police released 33 leaders of house churches and 3 leaders from South Korea.  Pastor Dong Quanyu was arrested and sentenced for 10 days for “illegal gathering.”

Pastor Quanyu has since been released on March16, after serving ten days of administrative detention in the Wancheng Detention Centre in Nanyang, Henan.  Three days after Dong’s release, his wife Li Huage (50) was arrested and sentenced to ten days’ detention for allegedly “disturbing public order.” Li was arrested at the office of the Wancheng District Public Security Bureau as she was seeking the return of her cell phone, computer and Bibles, which were confiscated during the March 6 raid of her home.

Arrested for disturbing public order for seeking and requesting the return of equipment taken from a raid.  Li Huage is just started her prison sentence.  Pray with me for her courage in prison, her words - that they may be Christ exaulting to her guards and fellow prisoners (Matthew 5:43-48).  That they may experience repentance and salvation.
