Anniversary Update, Part 1
We stayed in a wonderful Bed & Breakfast in Lynchburg for our anniversary trip. The rooms were amazing, the breakfasts deeee-licious and owners full of personality. Because it was the middle of the week and off season, we were the only guests while we were there. We traveled to Lynchburg up 77 to 81 and then went east to get there. And yes, we knew that was the long way before we started—we came home down 29. However, our host wanted to make sure we were clear on optimal travel routes and times between here and there, as well as offering a refresher on basic math skills. Below, I fondly recount a monologue we heard at least three times while we were there:
You see, you came in the long way. What did that take, four hours? Yeah, that’s the long way. You see, it’s really only three hours from Lynchburg to Charlotte if you take 29. It’s an hour from Lynchburg to Danville. It’s an hour from Danville to Greensboro. So that’s two hours from Lynchburg to Greensboro. Then it’s an hour from Greensboro to Charlotte. So that’s three hours from Lynchburg to Charlotte. See?
Sometimes we got the directions in reverse (tricky!), so we could plan for our next trip up.
