the glory of God that shines
In Psalm 104:2 the psalmist says that God covers himself with light as with a garment, and in verse 1 states that he is clothed with splendor and majesty. Then in Psalm 104:31 it states that the glory of the Lord shall endure forever, and that the Lord will rejoice in his works. The parallel being that “glory” and “rejoice” are used together to make emphasis that the Lord is very much joyful in his works of creation.
Psalm 104:31-32 “May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works, who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke!”
Psalm 104:1-2 “Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, you are very great!
You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent.”
Luke 2:11 “And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear.”
Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
2 Corinthians 4:16 “For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 21:23 “And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.”
I am in awe of the glory of God.
