find something witty to say why don'tcha?
Morgan Ensberg is guest blogging on Phil Hughes blog: Morgan writes: The next idea that I have is about opposing fans. I love it when a fan is yelling at me and says something really witty. Not just yelling to be heard by the people around him, but something really funny. If it is good, I will laugh at it myself. I want it to be funny. But let me tell you this, if you say “you suck” we know...

And I Thought I Would Never Use Algebra...
If my bowling score was three points less than half of my husband’s score, and only 72 percent of my four-year-old son’s score, how bad of a bowler am I?

don't order the fish noodle
Last night we had Hieu and Phuong over for leftovers and pizza. It was a time of great fellowship and to catch up from our very hectic lives. Our topics of discussion were all over the place. Such as, “If we only had one meal that we could eat for the rest of our lives, what would it be?” Hieu said, “beef noodle, for sure,” and Phuong said, “pork noodle.” ...

MacGyver Episode 437: Naps? We Don't Need No...
So, the other day, I popped up into William’s room during a not-particularly-quiet “quiet time” and found him in the midst of some serious tinkering. Here is a list of the contraband I removed from his room, all stealthily scavenged during the self-same supposed “quiet time” (apologies for the extreme alliteration…it just kind of happened): One pair eyebrow...

Caketastic
A friend and I made these for a going away party for another dear friend this past weekend. They were fun to construct and decorate!! The cakes are all “hot milk cakes”—a hand-me-down staple from my mom’s recipe collection for birthdays and other parties. The cake on the left is covered in fondant with white chocolate patterns and sugared flowers on top. The one on...

What's That Smell??
Any advice on what to do when the overwhelming smell in your home is half a canister of Febreze? I’ve come up with the following remedies as my projects for tomorrow, but so far most of them seem like bad ideas: Fish Fry Tuesday! Dog Daycare Museum for Retired Gym Socks Home-based Durian Importation Not really loving any of these plans…I’m open to suggestion!

More from the Peanut Gallery
Hearing considerable grouchiness from William upstairs in the bathroom, I asked what was going on. He replied, “My PANTS are not LISTENING to me!!!!” Man, I hate it when that happens.

Amusing Tidbits
Inspired by one of my regular blog readings, I checked out Google webmaster tools to find out what the top google searches with our blog as a result are. Here are some of my favorites: yiyang scooter No idea what this means. However, in my mind, this is the noise your scooter would make when you try to go faster when traveling up a hill. “blue slushie” We have Rachel to thank for...

Who Are You and What Have You Done with My Child?
Mike gave William the 10 minute bedtime warning tonight, to which Will’s reply was, “Yay! I’m really tired!” Bork!

Rebellion, Reconcilliation, and Regeneration
If you have about 45 minutes and need a good swat in the pants, then listen to this sermon given by Sean Reece from Heart Cry Missionary Society.  I highly recommend it.

"baseball is back baby" and other notes
Due to illness and extreme busy-ness I have been pretty lax in blogging. My beautiful wife Jessica is doing a great job and each time I read her posts I laugh to myself and count it as one of the many reasons I asked her to marry me, and so very thankful she said “YES!” before I even made it through the first sentence (and for the record, the first sentence was not, “Will...

Public Service Announcement: Baking a Pie and...
The content you are about to read is based on actual events and is shared in the hopes that you, dear reader, will be able to avoid similar incidents in the future. Build extra time into your schedule if you haven’t made a pie using a specific recipe before. It will take longer than you think. Improvising a new pie with an untested recipe and tweaking it based on what you think probably...

Yes. Babies are little.
I had forgotten how completely comfortable total strangers are in commenting on the size of babies. It happened with Will a good bit but time and billions of episodes of Thomas and Friends seem to have swept those memories into the back corner or under the nearest rug. This is a different phenomenon from the squealing friend greeting about how tiny and sweet a new baby is. It’s more along...
