unworthy servant
How often times you have prayed for something, and God grants it? And your delight is in the gift, more than it is to God who gave it to you? Every breath we breathe, every step we take, every object we own, every family member that we love, every job that we have, every smile that someone else gives us, every gift we have, is ultimately from God.” Coty Pinckney from the sermon:...

a dignified disposal
I do very little blog reading.  But I came across this reference to this article from the World Magazine Blog about Abortion and the disposal of aborted babies.  I will note one of the quotes I found interesting, and give some thoughts thereafter. She said: “I am furious and very hurt. Imagine my horror when I discovered that my baby was incinerated in the same furnace as the hospital...

Dolly’ll never go away
A lovely line from a charming musical.  And the header for the WordPress admin function.  Is it a secret message about sheep cloning?  A tribute to Barbra Streisand?  Hard to know.  Additionally, I contemplate the word “bloglines,” found in the RSS feed link area.  I want to add an -s to the end to get “blogliness.”  As in, “Wow, check out the blogliness of our new...

RIP Cory Lidle
NY Yankee pitcher Cory Lidle died in a tragic plane accident on the upper east side of manhattan yesterday afternoon.  For some it brought back 9/11, others it brought back Thurman Munson’s death. I’ve read in various blogs where this death put the outcome of the Yankees season in perspective.  I agree that is true to a point, but to be honest I did not give sports a thought yesterday...

William : Age 16 months
From May 2005 - from a Strawberry farm in Union county William wasn’t interested in picking strawberries, but was deeply interested in eating them. It was a cool and chilly day, and William had a great time with Gaw and Paw.  We picked 5 containers and probably ate an additional one. This image was when we just arrived and was walking to our destination.  It was taken by my nokia cell...

Musehaven?
I bet you have pondered that when you have first arrived at our location. “What is a Musehaven?” According to the free dictionary, the muse we use can be considered in two ways.  A muse, from a noun perspective, is a poet.  Both Jessica and myself being poetry lovers makes this an easy answer.  The second way to define muse would be used as a verb and that is to reflect deeply upon a...

With regards to the west
Joel Belz, of World Magazine and one of my favorite writers (and founder of the magazine) there, has a great article in the current issue. The article is titled, “Missing the pope’s point” and goes into great detail about pope Benedict’s message about how Muslims can help the rest of the world understand and talk about their religion. But the thrust of the article lies in...
